Undergraduate Review Members (positions below)
- Founded as the oldest arts publication on campus, the Queen's Undergraduate Review (UR) is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional creative work of Queen’s undergraduate students. Each year, UR publishes a curated print edition, offering a platform for emerging writers, artists, and creators to share their work with the broader Queen’s community. The editorial team works closely with contributors to bring these artistic visions to life, celebrating the diversity and talent within the undergraduate student body.
Applications will close on October 20th at 4PM.
Time Commitment
8 month-term from October 2024 to April 30th, 2025 with a time commitment of 3-4 hours/week.

Role and Responsibilities:
Marketing/Social Media Coordinator
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the Queen's Undergraduate Review (UR) and its annual publication.
- Manage UR’s social media accounts, creating engaging content to raise awareness of submission deadlines, events, and featured works.
- Collaborate with the graphic designers to produce visually appealing promotional materials that align with UR’s branding.
First-Year Intern
- Support senior team members in various tasks such as event planning, marketing, and managing submissions.
- Gain insight into the publication process and contribute to the daily operations of UR.
- Assist with the organization of UR’s events and initiatives to promote creative work at Queen’s.
Editors
- Review and edit submissions from undergraduate students, ensuring all work meets UR’s standards for quality and originality.
- Collaborate with contributors to refine their creative pieces for publication in the annual print edition.
- Work with the Editor-in-Chief to curate and select exceptional creative works for inclusion in the final publication.
Graphic Designers:
- Design the layout for the annual print publication, ensuring a visually cohesive and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
- Create cover art, illustrations, and promotional materials for both print and digital media.
- Work closely with editors and the marketing team to ensure visual elements align with the creative vision of UR.
Events Coordinator
- Plan and organize events that promote the Queen's Undergraduate Review, including launch parties, workshops, and other social events.
- Handle logistics such as venue booking, catering, and coordinating guest speakers or performers.
- Collaborate with the Marketing/Social Media Coordinator to ensure successful promotion and attendance at events.
