ASUS Appeals Resource Centre (AARC) Volunteers

    • AARC volunteers provide crucial peer-to-peer support for students navigating the academic appeals process. They assist students by clarifying academic regulations, offering feedback on appeal letters, and ensuring students put forth the best case possible. Volunteers collaborate with the AARC Chairs and fellow volunteers to ease student stress during this often-challenging process.

    Applications will close on October 2nd at 4PM.

    Time Commitment

    8 month-term from October 2024 to April 30th, 2025 with a time commitment of 3-4 hours/week.

    Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear explanations of academic regulations and procedures related to student cases.
  • Guide Arts and Science students through the appeals process, outlining each step.
  • Proofread and provide feedback on student appeal letters using checklists from SASS and the Ombudsperson’s Office.
  • Refer students to additional support resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with students to finalize appeals, ensuring clarity, compliance with regulations, and effective communication.
