VOLUNTEER POSITION(S)

The Queen's Equity Conference strives to educate members of the Queen's and Kingston communities on issues of social justice, tolerance, respect, and the future of creating a safer and more accountable social climate. Keynote speakers, student speeches, and a variety of intriguing and interactive activities allow the delegates to listen, network, and discuss in order to collaboratively broaden their perspectives about social issues facing our community, and more broadly our world. The Queen's Equity Conference strives to increase one’s understanding of relevant issues of equity that face our world today, and how to take action in order to create a more accountable and respectful future climate.

Applications will be open until October 4th at 4:00pm EST.

Expected Time Commitment and Renumeration

  • Marketing Coordinator (x2)
  • Speaker/Workshop Coordinator (x2)
  • Operations Coordinator (x2)
  • Social Media Coordinator (x1)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Marketing Coordinator
    • Reaching out to student organizations and promoting collaborations across campus
    • Ordering merchandise for conference
    • Attending weekly meetings
  • Speaker/Workshop Coordinator
    • Reaching out to speakers and workshops for event
    • Reviewing speaker/workshop content and timing
    • Attending weekly meeting
  • Operations Coordinator
    • Managing logistics on day of conference and other events (ex. Food, room space, decorations)
    • Monitor scheduling and projected participation of event organization
    • Attending weekly meetings
  • Social Media Coordinator
    • Running QEC social media (weekly posts)
    • Creating consistent themes for graphic design across events
    • Attending weekly meetings
