Roles and Responsibilities

  • First Year Representative(s)
    • Act as a voice for first-year economics students, bringing their concerns and feedback to Economics DSC meetings.
    • Regularly communicate with economics students to understand their needs and keep them informed about DSC activities.
    • Assist in planning and coordinating events, ensuring they align with the interests of first-year students.
  • Second Year Representative(s)
    • Act as a voice for second-year economics students, bringing their concerns, suggestions, and feedback to the Economics DSC meetings.
    • Regularly communicate with economics students to understand their needs
    • Keep second-year students informed about the Economic DSC’s activities, decisions, and upcoming events/opportunities
    • Help plan and coordinate events within the Economics DSC
    • Attend the Economics DSC Events and meetings
  • Marketing Coordinator(s)
    • Use marketing techniques to advertise upcoming Economics DSC events
    • Create social media posts, using design platforms, for the Economics DSC
    • Manage the Economics DSC’s social media accounts, ensuring regular and relevant updates.
    • Promote department events through various channels to maximize student engagement and attendance.
    • Attend department meetings and contribute to the planning and execution of department activities
  • Events Coordinator(s)
    • Execute and oversee events to ensure they run smoothly and meet objectives.
    • Develop event ideas that cater to the interests and needs of economics students
    • Develop detailed proposals for events, including objectives, timelines, and logistical requirements.
    • Coordinate with the DSC, faculty, and others to schedule events at times that maximize student participation.
    • Arrange for suitable venues for events, ensuring they meet the requirements for the expected attendance and type of event.
  • Secretary
    • Take minutes during meetings, making note of key discussions and decisions. Distribute the minutes to all members after the meeting.
    • Maintain organized records of all DSC communications, including emails and official documents.
    • Assist the Events Coordinator in planning and executing events by handling administrative tasks such as booking venues
    • Attend all Economics DSC events and meetings
