VOLUNTEER POSITION

The Queen’s Science Undergraduate Research Journal is an annual, peer-reviewed publication that seeks to enrich the student experience through engagement in the scientific community. Founded in 2015, QSURJ is an open-access journal that allows students to contribute through the systematic review and dissemination of undergraduate research in the scope of the health sciences. The mandate of QSURJ is two-fold: to promote and highlight the remarkable research output of undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Science and to provide support to students aiming to become involved in the undergraduate science research community. The Event Director's role will include planning and executing relevant events for the QSURJ team and the Queen's student body ; learning about the scientific review process, and assist Editors-in-Chief with planning and execution of QSURJ programming.

Applications have been extended until April 19th at 4pm EST.


Time Commitment and Responsibilities

An approximately 8-month term from September 2022 to April 2023 with a time commitment of 2-3 hours per week

  • Organize logistical planning and budgets for QSURJ events and programming
  • Develop detailed plans for effective execution of QSURJ programming
  • Assist Editors-in-Chief with the planning and execution of QSURJ programming
  • Assist the Industry Liaison with planning and execution of January’s speaker series
  • Follow all ASUS policy as outlined in the ASUS Policy Manual
  • Complete evaluations and attend evaluations meeting
